RATIONALE: This church was looking for an overall web presence; a way to minister and reach people online to share the gospel. In order to make this happen, dljworks utilized WordPress customizing a theme that fit the church’s primary colors. The structure of the theme was adjusted with PHP and jQuery while certain parts were customized with CSS.

The pastor of this church needed an easy system to post his teaching and writings while offering other materials–either free or at a cost value. A start here button was added as an open door for first time visitors who do not know the first thing about Living Witness or finding a Church Home in general. The goal was to make people feel welcomed. Their YouTube channel was also plugged into their site for easy access of all their visitors.

RATIONALE: The founder, Matthew Jarolik, was looking for something simple that he could maintain, but presented a design that fit his personality and stood out with his target audience. This was actually dljworks first foray into using WordPress and acquiring PHP development to modify a Storefront theme to fulfill Matt’s request. It was critical to move the design as far away from the demo version of the template as possible. Custom fonts were installed for heading and standard text presentation.

As far as content, information hierarchy, dljworks examined different retail sites such as Amazon, Target, Wal-Mart, Gamestop, as well as small business names related to The Nerd World’s product field. And the decision was made to be as simple as possible; going with the “Don’t Make Me Think” approach for his customers. In this simplicity, what normally would go on a retail homepage was reduced to displaying category choices and most recent additions. Maybe more will be added…maybe less depending on the growth and needs of Matthew’s business.

The theme of The Nerd World is aimed at embracing all of nerdy pop culture despite it only specializing in the sales of Funko items. You can see that Super Mario color’s are represented, Star Wars scrolling font is above the fold on the homepage, and hints of video game prestige, toy nostalgia, and more is hinted throughout the website whether in writing or images. But that’s also the beauty and irony of just selling Funko items: they are all things to all people.

RATIONALE: The owner previously had a blogger.com type blog which was, oh God, terrible. A facelift was needed. The magazine styled template was customized to fully fit the type of content the producer is producing. CSS animations and standard CSS was used to change the colors, slider dimensions, and more to better organize the information. dljworks founder DeShaun Johnson is a contributing writer to the site adding opinion and facts general pop culture and special editorials. Web coy writing was created for the about me page and content was structured and marked up for the SWBY crew side. jQuery was used to add a toggle effect in the menu to ensure it worked properly on Desktop and mobile.

RATIONALE: The owner previously used a cookie cutter template from GoDaddy.com that only represented a small fraction of the brand. delirium Entertainment creates racially diverse medias in the form of visual and written stories, art, music, and more. The original website was misrepresented using the Onyx drama as the delirium Entertainment headline.

delirium Entertainment’s colors are red, black, and white as seen in the logo. I used WordPress to build the site upon the charitas theme. The functions and features of the theme allowed for deep customization using widgets for content placement on the home page. delirium will be frequent with updates of events, releases, and merchandise.

jQuery and CSS were my go to tools to deeply adjust and customize elements and designs of the site. I used PHP to go into the backend of the theme and subtract specific pieces of code that brought functions I did not need.

Photoshop was used to create to simple graphics for certain pages such as the auditions page while most images was provided to dljworks by delirium Entertainment itself. Flash was used to create a simple animation not seen on the site, but as part of an intro video.

dljworks also handled the vhx streaming service for delirium Entertainment overseeing the overall art direction and configuration of the Onyx drama series.

RATIONALE: The founder enlisted the help of dljworks to create a website that carries a strong web presence representing the city of Grambling and it’s culture well. It needed to set itself apart from traditional affiliates and the college the town has become so inseparable from.

I configured Woo Commerce into the site to add a retail element for extended branding of the site. The added store opened up a new revenue stream for Grambition while serving primarily as a marketing tool to spread the Grambition message. Thanks to the technology of Print Aura and Woo Commerce, it made connecting the store a seamless process.
